Mission Statement

Being stewards of God’s creation our mission is to preserve, protect and develop the lands in rural areas of the CSI Madras Diocese by promoting life affirming agriculture and sustainable livelihood opportunities for the rural people leading to fullness of life for all in Christ Jesus.

Programmes

What the board does

Programme 1: Programmes of the Ministry

  1. Update of Land Survey and Documentation: survey of land and marking of boundaries; resolve boundary disputes, if any; check status of Patta, Cita, Adangal Documentation
  2. Improve yield from land through innovative farming practices and technologies
  3. Produce and market organic grains, fruits and vegetables
  4. Create Community Kitchen Gardens, Herbal Gardens and Nurseries for IGP
  5. Produce Commercially grown trees viz. Casuarina, Teak, Mahogany etc.,
  6. Create Retreat Centres and Camp Sites
  7. Develop Holistic Rural Development Training Centres
  8. Create commercial spaces to protect church lands from illegal occupation
  9. Utilise cultivatable and vacant lands through seasonal rental agreements
  10. Form a Network of CSI Agriculture based academicians, experts & officers

    Legal Restoration of Land

    Legal Restoration of Land at Vadamadurai Pastorate – 15 Acres of Wesleyan Methodist Church Property; Land at Sogandi, CSI Sunguvarchattram and Thandurai Pastorate is in process.

    Education and Fun Activities for School Children and Sunday School Children from City Churches. Tractor Ride Bullock Cart Ride Ploughing Seeding Harvesting Pottery Basket Weaving Paddy Planting and Cultivation Fishing and Fish culture Livestock Rearing; Feeding of Goats, Cattle, Poultry, Ducks, Birds.
